Colour Trends for 2022 And How to Use Them

Colour is a major inspiration for us here are TG Décor so here are our Colour Trends for 2022 And How to Use Them. It transforms dull into bright, old to new, and plane into fresh. Choosing your colour palette for your home décor project is an essential part of understanding the direction your interior is going. Gone are the days of boring, lets welcome in the new error of bold. We have put together a list of hues that we think will dominate the year ahead.

Green Machine

Green has been on the tips of every interior decorators tongue for the last couple of years, but as we venture further into 2022, the green machine will continue to rule as we pursue the human desire to connect with nature. You can always count on a rich shade of green to evoke the calming, enveloping spirit of the great outdoors. There is huge appeal in greens ability to adapt and be versatile in a bold and experimenting manner. A natural complement to plants either as the painted base or a featured backdrop, you can also pair it with custom hand-made oak pieces painted in warmer yellow colours or cooler shades of blue. The softer greens also make a great foundation colour from which to build an earthy palette.

Very Peri

We can’t have a list of colour trends without talking about the pantone colour of the year for 2022. Very Peri is a blue shade with a violet/ red undertone. And it is the first time in the Pantone history that they have chosen a new color as their color of the year, helping us to embrace and explore the indexes of reality and to not maintain the mundane as we break through the landscapes of possibility. The perfect complement to natural tones, this intriguing blue hue is both uplifting and light, while simultaneously being soothing and familiar. Use it to communicate a sense of tradition and craftsmanship. As a feature on walls and ceilings in dining rooms and spaces that need new life breathed into them.

Natural Neutral

The trend for darker shades in the kitchen shows no signs of disappearing. Contrasting black or deep grey with white is the most effective way to create impact in a predominantly neutral kitchen, but it’s all about moderation and ratio. There’s plenty of debate as to how to define ‘neutral’ colors. We tend to think of them as tones such as white, beige, grey, ivory and khaki that don’t appear on the color wheel. In general, neutral room ideas are calming and easy to use – they work with almost every other color. When decorating with neutrals, texture and layering are critical. Mix matte black metals and natural wood with textured glass and rattan to compliment the desired effect.
